NASHVILLE − Nine people suffered injuries and six were hospitalized the morning of Oct. 23 after an SUV slammed into a pedal tavern just south of downtown Nashville, local police said.
The wreck took place in the city's Gulch neighborhood the evening prior, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, the driver of a westbound Toyota RAV4 rear ended a pedal tavern about 8:30 p.m.
Twelve people were riding on the open-sided pedal pub when the crash occurred, nine who were injured, at least two of them seriously.
The drivers of the RAV4 and pedal tavern were not hurt.

Pedal taverns, also called pedal pubs, are open-air, four-wheel vehicles often powered by a group of people who pedal while drinking, bar hopping, or a combination of both.
