Brittany Cartwright has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex, Jax Taylor
Cartwright alleged in a request for the domestic violence restraining order that there has been a “pattern of acts of domestic violence” against her by Taylor since they began dating in 2015
She said she has a “genuine fear of my safety and my peace of mind”
The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex, Jax Taylor, amid their ongoing divorce.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, Cartwright, 37, requested a domestic violence restraining order, claiming that Taylor, with whom she shares 5-year-old son Cruz, had abused her as recently as Aug. 26.
She alleged a “pattern of acts of domestic violence” against her by Taylor, 47, since they began dating in 2015. Following their separation in 2024, she claims that “the manner in which he abuses me has changed, but the pattern of abuse has continued.”
“He now uses our required communications concerning Cruz to harass and threaten me, he makes threats of public humiliation on social media, and he continuously confronts me during custody-related interactions as additional means of intimidating, harassing, and disturbing my peace,” Cartwright wrote in her declaration in support of her request to the judge.
Cartwright, who married Taylor in 2019, says she is in “genuine fear of my safety and my peace of mind.”

In the declaration, she detailed various alleged incidents dating back to 2017. The most recent incident allegedly took place on Aug. 26.
“During the past decade, [Taylor] has exhibited a pattern of coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence perpetrated upon me,” Cartwright claimed.

Her declaration continued: “Throughout our relationship, [Taylor] has threatened to ‘gut me like a fish’, threatened to kill me, physically attacked me, thrown furniture at me causing me personal injury, broken at least three iPhones of mine, one iPad, destroyed property at our home, attempted to break in, stalked me, accessed my iPhone and messages and even Instagram account without my consent, deleted messages on my phone without my consent, removed my jewelry from the home without my consent and has refused to return them to me; as of recent he regularly threatens to go ‘public’ with false accusations against me and has in fact posted private messages exchanged between us on OurFamilyWizard (‘OFW’) containing private information about our son on Instagram, Threads and X.”
The temporary restraining order against Taylor was granted on Aug. 27. He is ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from his ex at all times, as well as 100 yards away from her home, car and from Cruz’s school.
He has been denied visitation with Cruz until a hearing on Sept. 17.

Cartwright’s restraining order against Taylor comes after his new relationship with Cartwright’s former publicist, Lori Krebs, went public.
“It’s just complete, complete betrayal,” Cartwright told PEOPLE on Aug. 5 of the relationship between her ex and Krebs, who she described as “ like a sister to me for 10 years.” Krebs also represented Taylor.
