Former Disney star Christy Carlson Romano is giving an update on her health after recently revealing a positive cancer screening.

Romano, 41, took to Instagram on Monday to share results from further testing, after initially taking a cancer screening test along with her husband Brendan Rooney. The *Even Stevens *alum shared in a previous Instagram post that the couple made the decision based on Romano's own family history.

"I got my initial tests back, and it is definitely better than what I feared," Romano said. "But I do have a lot more tests to take, and I'm going to be meeting with an oncologist this week."

Romano said that after experiencing two "significant health scares" over the past year, she felt "the universe has been showing me that I need to take my health seriously."

The *Kim Possible *actress, who shares daughters Isabella, 9, and Sofia, 7, with Rooney, shared how writing has been "extremely cathartic" for her amid her health issues and she plans to continue doing so by launching a Substack to document her "lifestyle-shift-journey." That Substack, dubbed *Controlled Chaos Report*, is now live with its first post.

When Romano initially shared her positive results, the actress admitted the results made her "nervous and a bit scared" and this has been a "very vulnerable time" for her.

"About 367 days since I got shot in the face," Romano said, referring to the accident that left the *Cadet Kelly *star with a a shotgun pellet lodged behind her right eye in 2025. "It's time to have a strong sense of faith and know that it's in God's hands, most of it. I'm sure people think I'm overreacting, but I'm not, because cancer is pretty serious, and I have two little girls."

Romano stressed how she will try to remain positive, writing in her initial post, "Let's keep the good vibes going and I will keep you all posted as I get more information 💪"**
