GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) — Persistent fog Sunday forced the cancelation of the first men’s World Cup super-G since the Milan Cortina Olympics.
Low clouds in the upper part of the Kandahar course reduced visibility and made a safe race impossible.
Organizers lowered the start gate and delayed the race several times but ultimately called it off "due to the present weather situation with limited visibility from the fog,” the International Ski & Snowboard Federation said.
FIS men's race director Markus Waldner told Austrian TV that the race will be rescheduled for March 13 in Courchevel, France, which hosts the last weekend of speed races before the World Cup Finals in Norway the following week.

Marco Odermatt holds a commanding 158-point lead in the super-G season standings with three races left. The Swiss standout has 425 points, followed by Vincent Kriechmayr of Austria on 267.
The men’s World Cup continues with a slalom and a GS in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, next weekend.
