Jenna Bush Hager had an unwanted guest visit her home over the weekend, and the video evidence is priceless!

On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the 44-year-old TV personality opened up about a hilarious encounter her family had with a chipmunk that got into their home.

“There was a little chaos that went down this weekend,” the mother of three said on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.

Her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, added, “That’s an understatement.”

Bush Hager shared that she and her husband, Henry Hager, were taking their kids, Mila, 13, and Hal, 7, to pick up their middle daughter, Poppy, 11, from a birthday party when a chipmunk infiltrated their home.

“We were going, we were out the door, I was kind of grabbing stuff. All of the sudden, the door opens and a chipmunk ran into my home,” she shared, before teasing, “Y’all know Christmas Vacation?”

In National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, a squirrel famously hides in the family’s Christmas tree, only to pop out inside the house when the family least expects it, causing them to leap over furniture as they attempt to extract it.

Bush Hager and her family had a similar experience, captured on camera by her eldest child, Mila.

In the clip, the Read with Jenna founder can be heard screaming, “Get it out! Get it out! Henry, get it. You’re the man!”

“There’s no way I can get a chipmunk!” Henry protests.

Meanwhile, Mila is more concerned with the family’s cat, Maisie, who is sprinting after the tiny rodent.

“No, don’t let Maisie kill it!” Mila repeatedly screams.

Bush Hager laughed off the clip, saying that when chaos ensues, all bets are off.

“Mila was filming it. I couldn’t even watch. This is what happens when things go wild. I run the other way and I yell things like, ‘Henry, you’re the man!’ ” she quipped. “I was going to close other doors because I didn’t want him to get far. I was like, ‘Secure the perimeter!’ ”

Jones gave props to Henry, calling him the “crisis coordinator” of the situation and teasing her co-host for always cooing over her feline pets.

“Jenna’s always like, ‘Oh, Maisie, Maisie, Maisie,’ put little glasses on ‘em, put a little coat, little shoes,” Jones joked. “ ‘Oh, Maisie, she’s like a little human!’ Well, let a chipmunk run in there. Maisie turned into her innate cat self.”

However, Bush Hager pointed out that Maisie couldn’t hurt the chipmunk unless she bit it.

“Maisie gets a manicure. Maisie has little caps on her nails so she doesn’t tear up our furniture,” she explained. “Right now she has Halloween colors. So she has a manicure, so Henry’s like, ‘That cat can chase after, but he can’t scratch it.’ ”

Ultimately, the story had a happy ending: Maisie chased the chipmunk out of the house after Henry opened the door.
