Two months after tying the knot with basketball player Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordyn Woods is opening up about the “pivotal” mishap that nearly derailed her wedding day.
Appearing on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on October 23, Woods described how an important element of her bridal look disappeared minutes before the ceremony. She and Towns married in Malibu, California on August 15.

“My veil was missing for a little bit. It’s the only stress I had of the day,” she told hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones. Woods recalled discovering that it “wasn’t actually packed” before she arrived at the venue.
“It was back at the Airbnb,” she said. Luckily, Woods “ended up getting it” before she walked down the aisle, though a backup plan was also made.
“I called the dress designer. I know they had a showroom in L.A. I’m like, ‘Get me whatever veil,’ even though my veil was fully custom. I was pretty upset,” she explained. “It was such a pivotal part of the dress, I feel like.”

Woods added that she was able to maintain her cool: “Everyone says I was the most chill bride they’d ever seen...I wasn’t stressed out about anything except the missing veil.”
Woods also discussed how she and Towns paid tribute to their late mothers at their wedding.

“With our ceremony, we kept it very short and sweet. We did our vows privately, but for the family section, we had a chair to honor both of them with just flowers,” Woods said.
“I knew that if I looked and I saw that, it would just—the emotions, makeup done—so I just wanted it to be subtle,” she continued. “We also had little lockets that our parents got us, a handkerchief that I could put in my, like, tuck it in. There was a lot of little things, but nothing huge and in your face.”
