Kristen Bell is aware that the rules at her house loosen when she is away for work. Her daughter, however, was not about to let dad Dax Shepard’s late-night snacking go unreported. She took sneaky photos of her father’s late-night snacking that reached mom mid-press tour, and the story quickly found a much bigger audience at “The Tonight Show”.
Kristen Bell’s daughter secretly keeps tabs on dad Dax Shepard like a spy when mom’s away
Kristen Bell shared the tale during a visit to “The Tonight Show” while speaking to host Jimmy Fallon while promoting “Nobody Wants This”. She explained that she had been in and out of town for about six weeks for the press tour.
Sharing her anxieties about leaving, she said, “As a mom, you get nervous to leave town.” Yet nothing alarming ever happens. There are no calls from school about absences, and nobody comes home with stitches. Nevertheless, she points out that her children and husband can be “mischievous” when they are together.
Every time she leaves, the actress receives alerts such as “Your McDonald’s has been delivered.” Her husband and kids, she said, tend to live on fast food in her absence. This year, though, the family went bolder. Dax Shepard posted a video of half a dozen sugary cereals, calling them the week’s groceries, and a homemade song about how “when the cat’s away, the mice will play.”

What he overlooked was the informant at home. “I have a mole on the ground, obviously,” Bell said. Her oldest daughter sent “in-house paparazzi photos” showing Shepard in the cereal cupboard at 10 p.m., well past their bedtime. Fallon displayed the sneaky pictures on air, joking, “He’s going cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs right there!”
Bell has two daughters, Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11, with her husband Dax Shepard. The couple has been married since 2013.
The actress was on Fallon’s show to promote season three of “Nobody Wants This,” which is streaming on Netflix with all ten episodes. She said Joanne and Noah move in together, calling the season “tension-riddled” and “very comedic,” exploring “the joys and perils of living with someone.”
