- Lena Dunham is calling out Seth Meyers on his talk show over a decades-old *Saturday Night Live* slight.

- The *Girls* creator revealed she asked Meyers to help rewriting her monologue when she hosted *SNL* in March 2014, but that he declined.

- She then suggested that if the monologue had gone better, "*Girls* might still be on the air."

Lena Dunham had a bone to pick with Seth Meyers when visiting *Late Night** *on Wednesday.

The *Girls* creator jokingly called out the late-night host for not helping her rewrite her *Saturday Night Live** *monologue back in 2014, suggesting that the lack of assistance may have caused a butterfly effect that greatly impacted the last decade of her life.

“There’s something I’ve been holding onto since then that I was hoping we could talk about,” Dunham began. “I want you to know I’m not mad at you, but I think it’s better that we just put it out in the open now.”

“Yeah, totally,” Meyers agreed. “And I’m glad we didn’t do it backstage.”

As Dunham tells it, Meyers, who had just left *SNL* to host *Late Night*, stopped by Studio 8H while she was preparing to host the show for her first and only time in March 2014. “You came up to visit… and I said, ‘Seth, I’m having a lot of trouble with my monologue, and I’m trying to rewrite it, do you think you could stay here for a couple minutes and help me?’” she recalled. “And you went, ‘No.’”

Dunham clarified she “wasn’t upset at the time" by Meyers’ refusal, but retroactively realized that his decision may have irrevocably changed her life.

“I was like, ‘Huh. A lot of really hard stuff happened to me over the last 10 years.’ It’s in the book, I don’t know if you read it yet,” she said, referring to her recently-released memoir *Famesick*. “And maybe, had my monologue gone better…”

She continued, “*Girls* might still be on the air. I might not have had some of these really trying times. I may not have had to have uterus removed, Seth.”

Meyers appeared appropriately fake outraged by the revelation. “Oh my God,” he replied. “So you’re thinking if I had helped — just not even written it, just helped a little bit — you’d still have your uterus?”

When Dunham jokingly agreed, the host quipped back, “You know what? I still have no regrets." He then walked back his comment, sarcastically adding, "I'm* so sorry*, Lena."

In the end, Dunham doesn’t have any regrets either, “because I got to put it all into this story.” The pair appeared to mend fences over the *SNL* slight by the end of their interview, with Dunham signing Meyers’ copy of *Famesick*.

“Dear Seth, I’m not angry,” she wrote. “I love you very much, but only as a friend.”
