CBC Group is recalling 227,500 children's plush toys that contain a plastic cube, after a child swallowed "sharp pieces" and officials received reports of the cube cracking into smaller parts.

The recall affects all units of the "Stephan Baby Boo Bunnie and Friends Children’s Toys" sold between August 2017 and January 2026, according to an April 30 notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recalled toys say the plush animals have the "removable, water-filled plastic cube" so that it "can be chilled for comfort."

The recalled toys pose a risk of "serious injury" from choking or laceration hazards, the agency said.

"Stop using the plastic cube immediately and keep it away from children," a warning from Stephan Baby reads.

All Stephan Baby-branded Boo Bunnie and Friends children’s toys were recalled after a child ingested "sharp pieces."

Phoenix, Arizona-based distributor CBC Group, Inc., which initiated the recall, did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.

Here's what to know.
