An airline safety video has gone viral online for its unexpected soap-opera-style storyline.
On Dec. 31, 2025, Philippine Airlines (PAL) released a six-minute-long safety video on YouTube, showcasing a tense plot in the style of a Filipino soap opera about a love triangle. The clip has since gone viral online, with 4.9 million views in just two weeks.
The telenovella follows a woman who is about to get married, while also being in love with another man, and includes several plot twists, cleverly woven intermingled with scenes of the countryās landmark destinations and informative safety instructions for flight passengers.
The popular airline safety video has captured the attention of viewers with its intriguing mix of drama and important safety guidance and is the first āPAL Safety novella,ā per the airlineās Instagram. The video is directed by Marius Talumpas, per News.com.au.
āWe had to deliver regulatory safety information clearly while crafting a story compelling enough to hold oneās attention to the end,ā Caleb Cosico, the creative director behind the flight video, told the outlet. āEvery scene had to be emotionally expressive but functionally instructional.ā
The video stars Kelley Day, Jay Gonzaga, Khalid Abdullah, Maritess Joaquin, and Robert SeƱa.
Several top destinations in the Philippines are highlighted in the clip, including Bohol, Boracay, Malcapuya Island in Palawan, Pangasinan and Albay. According to news.com.au, the video was filmed at the heritage estate of Hacienda Santa Rosalia in Manapla.
Since its release, the video has been playing across all Philippine Airlines' aircraft and reactions have been circulating online.
