Prince Harry's recent interview about reconciling with his family has generated a mixed response, but one broadcaster believes members of the royal family are justified in maintaining their distance from him.
The Duke of Sussex's relationship with his family, particularly his father, King Charles, and his brother, Prince William has been strained for several years.
Tensions escalated when Harry, 42, and his wife, Meghan Markle, 45, stepped down as working royals and moved to America in 2020. The pair have since moved back to the UK.

What followed were years of public accusations from the Sussexes, including in their interview with Oprah Winfrey and Harry's memoir, Spare.
Harry and William, 44, reportedly haven't spoken since 2022, and while Charles wants to see his two sons reunite, the prospect of a reconciliation seems unlikely.

In a new interview with GQ Magazine, Harry opened up about his hopes of repairing his relationship with his family.
While Harry admitted that he would like to reconcile with his family, he claimed that "some people don't want it" to happen.
Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has now claimed the interview has gone down "like a lead balloon" as she criticized Harry for speaking to GQ Magazine instead of speaking to his family directly.

"The more Prince Harry talks, the more you realize that the royal family are very sensible to keep their distance," she slammed.

She referenced the intimate revelations included in Spare, along with Meghan's assertion that questions had been raised about their son Archie's complexion prior to his birth.
"He now goes on GQ to try and reconcile. Reconcile to what? Why doesn't he learn a lesson? Just keep his mouth shut," Krakue suggested.
She added, "If he wants to reconcile his family, a bit of an apology and a bit of a phone call to dad. That will probably do it."
Despite Harry's aspirations to mend fences, many critics suggest his ongoing public statements about the family may be sabotaging his attempts to repair relationships.
GB News presenter Alex Armstrong echoed this sentiment on the Daily Expresso podcast with JJ Anisobi, who said, "William doesn't want anything to do with Harry.
"Sources are saying - I think this is the worst sentence they could get from William - he's no longer angry, he just feels apathy towards his brother... If William is not willing to reconcile, do you think Harry should now shut up and never answer another question about the royal family?"
Alex responded, "It would help if he just stopped talking about it all and just said to journalists 'I don't want to talk about that, I want to talk about this charity work I'm doing.' If he wants to have that reconciliation, he's got to shut up."
