Teyana Taylor shared a special moment with her parents, Nikki Taylor and Tito Smith, at the 2026 Billboard Women in Music Awards

Teyana Taylor never wastes a red carpet moment.
The 35-year-old singer and actress took her parents along to the 2026 Billboard Women In Music in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 29, making for a sweet family date night.
Teyana appeared in a jaw-dropping gown by Ashi Studio that featured an ivory corseted bodice adorned with twisted tendrils of dark hair. The ensemble featured a sheer white skirt with blonde hair peeking out below the train.
She added white lace-up platform shoes and wore her hair in long mermaid-inspired waves.
The One Battle After Another star's mom, Nikki Taylor, opted for a form-fitting black gown and gold jewelry, while her dad, Tito Smith, wore a classic black suit. The trio cozied up for photos on the red carpet.

During an April 2023 appearance on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, Teyana shared that her mom raised her alone in Harlem, N.Y., as her father was in prison. She added that she now views her mother's partner, Boe, as a father figure.

Nikki is also Teyana's manager and has been there every step of the way throughout her career.
“The moment I got signed — I’ll never forget the day — my mom was working a temp job, and I remember when I first told her about my meeting with Pharrell, she quit right away,” Teyana told Interview in April 2023. “She instantly became my manager. From that day on, that was my roll dog. For real, for real, for real. We both had to learn the business together. And onto this very current day, she’s still my manager.”

At the Billboard event, Teyana also shared a special moment with journalists on the red carpet.
In a video shared by Us Weekly, the star is seen going down the line of reporters and hugging each one after her publicists reportedly wouldn't let her do interviews.
