On Thursday, Rockstar Games finally revealed gameplay for Grand Theft Auto 6 nearly three years after the first trailer. Yes, the 27-minute extended look showed mostly cutscenes, but there were tidbits of the shooting mechanics and destruction.

As we already knew, we'll be put in the shoes of Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, a Bonnie-and-Clyde-esque couple looking for a big score. I honestly would have loved to see more missions, side quests, etc, but there were moments when I was genuinely blown away by what this gaming studio has created during GTA 6's 13-year development.

Here is a breakdown of the top five wildest moments during the GTA 6 extended look trailer.

• Ubisoft cofounder behind Assassin's Creed killed in plane crash in France

• Sony reveals when PlayStation will stop releasing games on physical discs ahead of GTA 6

The graphics, of course

GTA 6 is a gorgeous game, obviously. From the way the ocean sparkles under the sun, to the subtle clank of a six-pack of beer, to the realistic sway of a gangster's dreads, this game pushes the PlayStation 5 to its absolute limit.

Everything looks unbelievably realistic. Blood and gore lovers are certain to have fun with this game, which features a slow-motion kill camera like the one in Red Dead Redemption 2 — landing a headshot means you want miss the enemy's head explode.

The only downside to the graphics is that gameplay will be locked at 30 frames per second.

F--- the police

The trailer showed what appeared to be three missions — one involving a meth lab and a bunch of dirty cops, another showing some kind of heist, and an average convenience store robbery.

The latter gave us a taste of the physics in GTA 6, showing the developers didn't skimp on research. As Lucia mans the getaway car after an armed robbery, Jason is tasked with taking out the cops who are on their tail.

Aspects are being compared to Red Dead Redemption 2

The bullets that hit the squad cars and helicopters give off hyper-realistic sparks, and the sound design is amazing. Explosions in Grand Theft Auto 5 were awesome for the most part, but this game takes it to another level.

Robberies are definitely taken up a notch in GTA 6. The last entry allowed the player to knock up any convenience store by simply pointing the weapon at the cashier and waiting for him to drop the cash. However, it's a more complex art in GTA 6.

Jason and Lucia must first take control of the situation by taking out security or any armed individual within the perimeter, but did you know that an ordinary patron can attempt to derail your crime? Yes, a bystander can attempt to disarm you while you rob a place. There's no telling what kind of effect that can have on your playthrough.

GTA 6 is confirmed to take around 80 hours to complete, putting it on par with RDR2 in terms of content. Keep in mind that GTA 5 took around 32 hours to complete. It's going to be a huge game, guys, so make sure to have some space on your console when the time comes.

We all love doing random activities in these sorts of games, and Rockstar has spared no expense. From what we saw in the trailer, we can race dirtbikes, box, scuba dive, gamble and much more.

Social media has been raving about Lucia since the reveal trailer dropped.

We haven't played a moment of the game yet, but gamers are already in love with the gun-toting Latina who is seen handling a full shotgun with one hand during what appears to be a robbery.

A portion of the internet was more impressed with how Rockstar designed Lucia's character model, posting pictures of her in tight dresses and yoga pants. It's gotten to the point where weirdos online are begging the developers for "love" scenes involving Lucia.

These people do not speak for all gamers by the way.

Relationship status

Rockstar has confirmed the existence of relationship maintenance in GTA 6. Players have the option to take time out of their days to spend some non-violent time with their partners outside of missions.

This will progress Lucia and Jason's bond and have an unforeseen effect on your playthrough. It's not like we haven't seen a similar mechanic before, but usually, the player builds a bond with a character through shared missions.

In GTA 6, this may involve an actual lunch date or a beach day as we saw in the trailer.

I personally wished we saw more gameplay, but at least GTA 6 is around the corner - hopefully.

As of now, the game is still on track to release on November 19, 2026.
