A new Avengers: Doomsday preview is around the corner as World Series Game 1 airs this Friday. A lot of fans are theorizing what the upcoming preview releasing with the game will be about. But excitement is running high for the preview, as many expect that we may get more of Victor von Doom.

But a new rumor suggests that the preview might feature a post-credits scene that was initially planned for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This rumored scene, which was supposedly filmed, would've been another setup for Avengers: Doomsday.

Avengers: Doomsday preview: what would have happened in the rumored scene?

This rumored scene set in a baseball field would have seen Reed, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm visit a baseball game on Earth-828. Meanwhile, Sue and Franklin are in the Baxter Building, and Doom enters. We saw the scene with Sue, Doom, and Franklin in the final cut of First Steps. However, the scenes about Johnny, Reed, and Ben visiting the baseball game were cut.

Moreover, the stadium portion of this post-credit scene would've featured Chris Evans' Steve Rogers as a part of the audience. This would've confirmed an earlier scene from the start of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which saw a father and son watch a cartoon featuring Marvel's First Family — and that father was none other than Steve, with his son.

This cameo would also have confirmed that Steve caused an incursion, which supposedly results in the events of Avengers: Doomsday. MLB host Kait Maniscalco also teased this scene for Doomsday in a recent Instagram reel, through which she did reveal that she has a cameo in the baseball scene in the Avengers movie:

“One of the most surreal experiences that I have ever had was actually getting to be on set during Avengers Doomsday when they filmed an iconic baseball scene”

Leaks have suggested that Steve Rogers's decision to build a life with Peggy Carter in the past created a branched timeline. Avengers Endgame: Encore alluded to this in the expanded scene of Steve and Peggy dancing. In the new version, Loki interrupts the couple and offers them help. Many fans believe that the God of Stories offered Steve and Peggy to relocate to Earth-828.

This relocation, rumor has it, kills Doom's family, which is why the Latverian ruler is hunting down Rogers. But it should be noted that we don't know if this leak is true or not. But this incursion gives Doom a chance to rewrite reality, something many fans believe will happen in the closing minutes of Doomsday, which would set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars.
